About Babouche Golf
Babouche! Golf is all about high quality golf head covers, towels and other accessories. My aim is to put colour back into your golf game, one head cover or towel at a time.
In late 2017 I was on holiday in Marrakech. Whilst I was there I was amazed by the quality of and range of artisan skills on display in the medina. I was really impressed by the beautiful leather slippers that nearly every shop sells. They are called Babouche in Moroccan Arabic.
An old friend of mine who lives in Marrakech gave me and my girls a tour of the medina and introduced me to a lovely guy called Khalid, who makes leather handbags for my friend’s business, and it got me thinking about a new business idea.
I was sat by the pool thinking about what I had seen and I realised that with all the leatherwork on display, I hadn’t seen any golf head covers – and yet Marrakech has about 10 golf courses and is rapidly becoming a must play golf destination. So, I contacted Khalid and asked him to make me some head covers. When I described what I wanted, he replied: “you want to make leather slippers for golf clubs?” “Yes” I replied – “that’s exactly what they are.”
And that’s how the name came about – Babouche! Golf
That was the birth of Babouche Golf.
In the spring of 2018 I launched a range of hand made Moroccan leather head covers, in 18 colours. I also now make personalised and branded head covers here in the UK. And in 2019 I added golf towels to the product range.
So, whether you want a beautiful, funky patterned golf head cover or perhaps something from our bespoke range for a unique design, or maybe use one of your favourite photographs, or a head cover embroidered with your logo – we have just the golf head cover for you. All made in our workshop in Hampshire, England.

My name is David Long and that’s me in the photograph. I have played golf since I was 12, and if I told you I had used the same putter for the last 46 years, you can work out my age!

What’s In The Bag
In 2018 I upgraded my irons and now play the amazing Orka Golf GS5 Tour SC Irons – I also use a PXG driver 9.5 loft, and a Callaway 3 wood and Orka Reflex hybrids – 19 and 22 degree. And let’s not forget my trusty Scotty Cameron Studio 1.5 putter.
