WOW – what an amazing 12 months it’s been.
On the 27th October 2017 I explored the medina in Marrakech and was blown away by the entrepreneurial spirit, the artisan skills and the overall positive vibe of this ancient city.
I was on holiday in Marrakech with my two amazing daughters – it was the first time we had visited this amazing country and we will be back. Whilst I was there I was amazed by the quality of and range of artisan skills on display in the medina.
An old friend of mine who lives in Marrakech (view their beautiful riad on AirBnB) introduced me to a lovely guy called Khalid, who makes leather handbags for my friend’s business, and it got me thinking about a new business idea.
That was the birth of Babouche Golf. The original idea was to create leather head covers, made in Marrakech from hand dyed Moroccan leather.
Babouche is a french word that the Moroccans use for the leather slippers that you can buy all over the medina.
My aim is to put colour back into golf, one head cover at a time.
In the spring of 2018 I launched a range of hand made Moroccan leather head covers, in 18 colours. I also now make personalised and branded head covers here in the UK.
